For Our Home

Keeping our home safe and free from toxins.

Here are simple steps to keep our home free from toxins.

The simple rule of thumb is use what is safe to our body and skin.

If you have to wear a glove to clean anything, think twice because that chemical cleaner will affect your skin and you will inhale it too as you clean! Our skin is our biggest external organ. It is our defense system. What we put on it will enter into our body via the skin pores. Our lungs are our life time air filter. What we inhale will affect our lungs and our eyes too!

Baking Soda

  • Soaking vegetables or fruits (even they are organic) with one table spoon of baking soda in a bucket of water for 15 minutes to remove the environment contamination.

  • Instead of using bleach or other harmful chemical for our skin, use baking soda to clean the sink and bath tub.

  • Use baking soda to scrub the pots and pans.

  • Great for insect bite or bee sting. Simply put a little bit of water with the baking soda to form a paste. Put it onto on the skin where it needs it.

  • If the insect bite is on the foot, soak the foot with baking soda. Try it with warm water. If it does not feel comfortable, switch it to cold water because some insect bite skin irritation feels warm so cold soothes it.

Tea Tree Oil

  • Put a drop of tea tree oil on a paper power and clean your window seal such as to remove mole or dirt.

  • Put 8 drops of tea tree oil in a spray bottle with distill water to spray odor and bathroom.

  • Put 5 drops of tea tree oil into the laundry detergents.

Vinegar

  • Put vinegar into the toilet bowl or sink from time to time to disinfect.

  • Use vinegar to clean windows.

  • Put vinegar to kill weeds.

White Soap

  • Wash your hands with white soap and warm water is still the best. Avoid using antibacterial hand soap.

  • When you are at home, use soap to clean your hands rather than using hand sanitizer.

  • Avoid using alcohol because that harms your skin.

Insects

  • For ants, use borax. See this link because it works.

  • For mosquito bites, put a little bit of water with the baking soda to form a paste. Put it onto on the skin where it needs it.
